Save time on a drain-down with an Ahh-Some product
For the last few months we have been stocking Ahh-Some jetted bath and hot tub cleaner. This product has been around for a few years now, but only recently did we trial it out with our service division to see how it stacks up against products we have used previously. Two teaspoons into the filter mouth with the filter removed and pumps running, will cause the water to become foamy almost instantly. After a short period of time you will notice brown, gunky Biofilm being lifted to the surface of the foam and being deposited around the scum line.
Run for 20 minutes with all jets open. Leave to rest for 10 minutes then run another 20 minute cycle. Empty the Spa and rinse down. Re-fill with fresh water and sanitize ready for use.
You may be asking yourself, "Why is this a technical tip?". I believe this product saves you time from the re-fill to the finishing off process. With other system flushes, the good ones do an effective job of breaking away biofilm, scale etc. from the pipework but they tend to leave lots of loose suspended parts in the water. This means when you come to refill the spa, you then have to spend five to ten minutes with a net clearing the new clean water of these small deposits. We have found that by using Ahh-Some it captures nearly all loose particles in the foam prior to flushing.
