Replacing a Laing Circulation Pump?
When you get a call to replace a Laing circulation pump you can save yourself a lot of time and effort by keeping a couple of small parts handy on the van, to avoid having to drain the Spa.
Most Laing circulation pumps are a ¾" barb connection. If you use 2 x ¾" socket barbs and connect them with about ½ metre of ¾" vinyl pipe, you can use it as a temporary loop.
When removing the pipe from the wet end you will need to put your thumb over the exposed end of the pump whist pushing the barb from your loop into the lose pipe. You will need to act quickly, you will lose a small amount of water but it is easily cleared up when you are done. Although this is unlikely to cause spraying, you must ensure the system is turned off and you must cover up anything that could become water damaged just in case.
